The Pastor’s Blog – FOGGY HEAD!

I am sure most of you know what I mean when I say “foggy head.” It might be when you are too tired, or maybe there are too many decisions to deal with all at once, or most likely it is when you have a head cold. That is my story, a week of foggy head due to a head cold. The simplest decisions either seem impossible or totally non-important!

Of course I would get my foggy head the week I have three online meetings, two interviews, a Board Meeting and a seminar, plus my regular responsibilities and duties. Sadly, because of my foggy head, I missed a couple of things…

What do you do when you have foggy head? As little as possible! I am afraid I will say the wrong thing, or do something wrong that will mess up things for weeks to come. So I stayed home and tried to stay out of trouble. Almost succeeded!

During the week I realized that I was not alone, and there were many others willing and ready to help me navigate through the fog. Every day there were people from the church calling me, checking in, and taking on tasks that needed to be done but I could not do this week. I was so grateful that I did not have to navigate through the fog alone.

It reminded me of a great passage from Hebrews: “12Therefore strengthen your limp hands and weak knees. 13Make straight paths for your feet, so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed.…” (Hebrews 12:12-13)

The context is about supporting each other. It feels good to be carried in the fog! Hmmm… maybe the fog is not lifting quite yet. Could be another month….
